About Clear Skies Ranch
Clear Skies Ranch Reentry and Recovery Homes provide a safe, nurturing environment/community in which we support and inspire individuals in recovery to transform themselves and assist them to assimilate and integrate back into the community as productive, service-driven individuals as they effectively pursue and achieve their goals and aspirations. We assist men with work experience and skills training on a small ranch facility with rescued animals.

Why do we do this?
Founded by Gabrielle Melville in 2013, Clear Skies Ranch is an innovative, non-profit organization that provides an exciting and effective approach into transforming the lives of those affected by the drug epidemic, mass incarceration and homelessness. We have created pathways to success by centering our efforts into three main focus areas; housing, work/life experience and animal care. Our hope is that providing a safe and therapeutic living environment, access to post-secondary education, as well as a sense of purpose and connection through our animal care program, individuals will be empowered into becoming self-sufficient and contributing members of our community.
We address the need of quality sober living homes in Los Angeles County and to integrate the innovative, and therapeutic practice of animal therapy in a grass-roots organization. Gabrielle saw first hand through a loved one’s experiences how the revolving door of addiction and incarceration, perpetuated an unstable spiral. She saw that once given a chance, through substance use treatment and sober living, a person can heal and regain their life.
How do we do this?
Clear Skies Ranch brings together practitioners, advocates and participants to inspire and provoke ideas to develop strategies to create positive and meaningful change.
Our residents participate in and gain knowledge through group therapy, living and work skills, substance use disorder maintenance, animal welfare, gardening, and health and nutrition.
They build specialized, marketable skills to help remove the employment barriers faced by those with a criminal record.
Our vision is built upon the symbiotic relationship between humans and animals, creating a space for healing, love and living your best life.
Our goal is to bring purpose and connection into the lives of human beings and provide a loving home for our animals.
